Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee General Secretary Prithviraj Sathe has been selected by Congress President Sonia Gandhi as the Secretary of the All India Congress Committee. Sathe has been given charge of the state of Assam ahead of the assembly elections there. With the Assam Assembly elections coming up next year, his selection to this very crucial post is considered important. With his elevation to the national post, the party has shown immense faith in a young Marathi party worker.
Prithviraj Sathe started his political career in 1992 through NSUI. At Fergusson College in Pune, he won the election with the support of NSU. He later worked as the Secretary of the All India Youth Congress.
He was a member of Rahulji Gandhi’s core group in the 2007 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. While on the post of National Coordinator of the Youth Congress, he had taken the initiative to train the party workers.
As the General Secretary of the State Congress, he has played an important role in the day-to-day work of the party . He also played an vital role in the 2019 Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections. He has fulfilled every responsibility given to him by the Congress party with great responsibility.
Sathe is a very highly educated person. He has knowledge about various national as well as international subjects. He also has a talent for organisation building.
His public relations with various people and organizations from across sections of the society are his strengths. Taking note of Prithviraj Sathe’s work, Congress President Sonia Gandhi has promoted him to the post of National Secretary and handed over the responsibility of Assam to him.
