Devised to transform India into a global design and manufacturing hub, the \u201cMake in India\u201d initiative seeks to position the country as a nation of innovation and aims to provide more job opportunities to the Indian community as the technology landscape in the country continues to evolve. As part of the initiative global companies are incentivised to move or open-up part of their product manufacturing locally in India.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Versa Networks\u2019 Secure SD-WAN is a transformative technology that simplifies the IT infrastructure control and management by delivering a virtual WAN architecture that securely connects users to their applications.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">An SD-WAN solution includes a controller and a branch device that is operated from the data centre or cloud where the controller is deployed. Jabil is focused on the manufacturing of the branch devices \u2013 specifically universal branch CPE (customer premise equipment) appliances \u2013 that hosts Secure SD-WAN software and supports third-party VNFs as part of Versa\u2019s solution. Although Versa branded, these devices are sold by Jabil directly to distributors for partners and customers to purchase.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">\u201cWith India as the second biggest market for Versa, coupled with the Government\u2019s initiative, deploying a manufacturer in the region this year has been an important move,\u201d\u00a0<b>said Abhishek Jain, Regional Sales Director, India &amp; SAARC at Versa Networks.<\/b>\u00a0\u201cWhat\u2019s more, we\u2019re proud to be involved in an initiative that gives back to the community with the offer of jobs and upskilling opportunities, as well as doing our part to enhance India\u2019s economy.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">With production starting at the beginning of August and three product families having been\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\">produced so far, Jabil\u2019s manufacturing plants in Pune, India are currently providing more than 80 jobs for locals.
