Hospitality was one of the worst affected industries worldwide, however, with cities unlocking and global restrictions easing gradually,\u00a0India\u00a0topped the charts for OYO as the most booked country while\u00a0Delhi\u00a0clocked in the most bookings across the world in 2020.\u00a0Pune emerged as one of the top ten destinations for business travelers.\u00a0With the unlocking of cities, December 2020 emerged as the month that\u2019s witnessing the most demand around the holiday season.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Detailed findings from OYOs Travelopedia 2020:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<li>Five reasons why people loved OYO during the pandemic:\n<ul>\n<li>Approximately\u00a073,000 repatriated Indians\u00a0completed their institutional quarantine at OYOs across India. Amongst these, most bookings were made by guests traveling from the Middle East, primarily UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, and Qatar<\/li>\n<li>OYO Care tied up with\u00a024+ state ministries and 50+ government\u00a0and private hospitals<\/li>\n<li>The hotel chain housed\u00a0250,000+ hospital staff and asymptomatic patients\u00a0since April 2020<\/li>\n<li>200+ sailors\u00a0were safely quarantined at OYOs across India<\/li>\n<li>OYO served\u00a02500 pin codes\u00a0in 2020.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Lost &amp; Found at OYO:\u00a0Around 2112 people forgot their belongings at OYOs across India.<\/li>\n<li>What\u2019s new:\u00a0Over 8.5 million new user bookings were made on the OYO app and website in 2020.<\/li>\n<li>India turns to spirituality:\u00a0Puri emerged as India\u2019s top pilgrimage destination, followed by Vrindavan, Tirupati, Shirdi, and Varanasi<\/li>\n<li>Chal Beach Chalein!\u00a0Across India, without any surprise, the tourist hotspot of Goa emerged as the most booked beach destination, followed by Kochi, Vizag, and Pondicherry.<\/li>\n<li>Incredible India:\u00a0Since India began unlocking, the northern cities of Jaipur, Udaipur, and Agra are the most loved heritage cities for Indians.<\/li>\n<li>A December to Remember:\u00a0In December 2020, over 17 lakh people checked-in over the weekends. December 12, 2020, saw the most number of bookings (so far).
